Plot
Nobody knows how it happens; it just does. Children of regular parents are sometimes born with a mix of human and animal DNA. These hybrid children, however, are not allowed to live a normal life among the normal citizens of the world. The government has issued a decree that states that any children that are born as hybrids must be immediately sent to a large, fenced-in compound named The Nova Compound. The Nova Compound lies on the edge of a rather large town named Novelty. The city of Novelty has made an agreement with the government to supply The Nova Compound with food and supplies.
The city and compound have lived side-by-side peacefully for as long as anyone can remember; but that is all about to change. When a group of older hybrids who had been raised in secret is captured and brought to the compound, their stories and ideas spark hope in the eyes of the inhabitants of The Nova Compound. Talk of revolution has become more and more constant, and the younger hybrids have been trying to get people from the town of Novelty on their side.
News of the talk of revolution has reached the government, and they have told the leaders of Novelty to put and end to it. After many attempts to reason with the members living in The Nova Compound, the mayor of Novelty concluded that they were not going to back down. The sudden, unexplained death of one of the leaders of the revolution in the hybrid compound sparked an even louder outcry. The hybrids who had been on the fence about whether or not it was a good idea suddenly backed the cause whole-heartedly.
When a town is on the verge of an all-out revolution, which side do you choose? The side that has been in control for the past thirty years, or the one that cries out for justice? Choose wisely. Your life may just depend on it.
